To evaluate the publication pattern and ascertain the paramount authors and journals of the subject, the Biblioshiny web application of the R software (R Foundation for Statistical Computing, Vienna, Austria) was applied. A thematic map illustrated the collaborative network among countries, while simultaneously tracking the authors' trending keywords. A total of 1309 publications, crafted by 6342 authors from 483 distinct sources, were located. Central to three distinct collaborative network clusters was the United States as the connecting node. This investigation intended to measure the prevalence of IGD amongst intermediate and high school students in Albaha, and evaluate associated elements potentially linked to the disorder's emergence. Data collection for this cross-sectional study, conducted between August and November 2022, utilized a self-administered online Arabic questionnaire. This questionnaire contained a validated translation of the IGD-20 test, which is aligned with the criteria for IGD diagnosis as defined in the DSM-5. Randomly selecting eight secondary schools, with a balanced representation of male and female students, was achieved through a multi-stage sampling technique, utilizing two administrative areas as clusters. The data was scrutinized using descriptive statistics in conjunction with chi-square analysis. In this study, a diverse group of 391 participants, aged 12 to 18 years, participated. Of the total sample, 514% were male (n=201), and 486% were female (n=190). A notable finding was the 35% (n=14) prevalence of IGD, with males representing 64% (n=9) of the affected individuals.
